By now, you’ve probably realised that Manilla has loads of activities on offer for you to entertain yourself.
And because we’re such a friendly bunch, we’ve also got a whole host of events where we entertain you.
Antique Fairs, shows, sing-a-longs, vintage rallies, equine activities, gliding, music festivals, markets. You name it, we’ve got it.
It’s just another example of what we like to call good old-fashioned country hospitality.
In January, the Manilla and Districts Country Music Association holds a great annual concert during the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
March sees the annual Manilla Show, offering an exhilarating mix of fun, farming and festivity. There’s fireworks, jousting, dog shows, sheaf-tossing, even a wife-carrying contest. There’s also a kids’ zone, complete with petting zoo and a magician.
In June The Manilla Vintage Machinery Club rev up their engines and take you on a fascinating ride through the machines of a bygone era.
And in August, the Pony Club strap on their helmets and strut their stuff in a show jumping/dressage day.
If it’s antiques you’re after, then you won’t want to miss the Volunteer Rescue Associations Antiques Fair in September. There are some incredible items on display and you can pick up a real bargain to take back home with you.
In October, everyone in Manilla looks to the skies as the annual paragliding and hang gliding competitions are held at Mount Borah. Watch open-mouthed as these daredevils swoop and glide through the air, or, if you are feeling up to the challenge, have a go yourself.
We also hold a bunch of monthly events that are great fun for the whole family. So if you want to take in a local footy game, sing along with the band at the Royal Hotel, or watch some seriously skilful team penning, then round up the family and get ready for a fun-filled day.
